Gold Derby Music Awards 2022: voting for nominations is open!

It’s time to vote for your favorite musical achievements of the past year at the 2nd Annual Gold Derby Music Awards. Vote now here in our prediction center (illustrated instructions are below). You can continue to change your votes as often as you like. None of your choices are final until closing of votes at the end of the day on Friday, December 3.
Our awards follow the same eligibility schedule as the Grammys (September 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021). And we’ve expanded those rewards from last year. The 2021 GDMAs honored musical achievement in 12 categories. This year you can vote in 23 races, including new categories where you can vote for the best pop, R&B, rap/hip-hop, country/americana and rock/alternative albums and songs, plus a new prize for the best Cooperation.
In the top five categories (Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist), you’ll select your five favorite nominees in order of preference. Your first choice gets five points, your second gets four points, your third gets three points, your fourth gets two points, and your fifth gets one point. The top 10 points in each of these categories will be the nominees.
In all other categories, you will vote for your three favorites in order of preference. Your first choice gets three points, your second two points and your third one point. The top five points in these categories will be the nominees. You can vote in as many categories as you want.
Although the Grammys made their own eligibility decisions, we left it up to our users to decide. Some artists, albums and songs that mix genres are entered for review in multiple fields (for example, you may find Lil Nas X across the pop and hip-hop artist categories, and we’ve included Kacey Musgraves in pop and country). You can vote for them in the category that you think best represents their style of music, or you can vote for them in any genre they appear in. If a candidate has enough votes to be nominated in multiple genres, they will only receive the nomination in the category where they received the most votes.
And in the case of artists with multiple entries in a category, they will be capped at one nomination per credited artist. For example, justin bieber MAY be nominated for both “Stay” with Kid LAROI and “Peaches” with Overlook and Daniel Caesar in the same category since these songs have different credited artists, but Billie Eilish CANNOT be nominated for both “Happier Than Ever” and “Refore I Am” as she is the only artist credited on both. So for artists who get enough votes to have multiple nominations in a category, they will only be nominated for the song for which they received the most votes.
Taylor Swift won our first awards last year, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Folklore.” Refresh your memory on these champions here. And vote now for this year’s awards here.
