The second radio ratings of 2022 are here!

Overall, it was a strong performance for Nova, with the station topping the market in Perth (13.9% share), Adelaide (tied with RNA’s Mix 102.3 on 11.8%) and Brisbane (10.6%). In Melbourne and Sydney, although they remained in the middle of the pack, they rose by 0.3 and 0.8 respectively.

The survey also marked a turnaround for many stations in Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) Hit network, with Sydney’s 2DayFM eventually climbing back above the 5.0% mark. A 0.9 jump in breakfast and climbs on all parts of the day helped the resort to a 5.1% share, up 0.9 from the last survey.

In Melbourne, Hit Network’s Fox was the biggest mover, up 1.8 points to 9.6%, while Adelaide’s SAFM was relatively flat at 8.6% (up 0.1 ), as did Perth’s Hit 94.5 (12.4%, up 0.2).

The B105 in Brisbane, meanwhile, climbed 1.0 overall to 10.0%, making it Brisbane’s biggest bull. Her breakfast show Stav, Abby and Matt also regained the top spot after a 2.3-point climb.

And at ARN, the network continued to dominate the Sydney FM radio market with KIIS 106.5 out of 9.6% and WSFM out of 8.4%.

ARN’s GOLD 104.3 also remained at the top of the FM stack in Melbourne and the network also saw steady gains in Adelaide and Perth.

Could this survey mark a turning point for SCA stations in Sydney?

His Hit Network station 2DayFM was the biggest climber, rising 0.9 to a 5.1% share. This was supported by climbs in all parts of the day, including breakfast, where Hughesy, Ed and Erin increased from 0.9 to 4.2%.

SCA stablemate Triple M rose 0.7% to 5.3%, while its new Breakfast program with Mark Geyer, Triple M Breakfast with MG, Jess & Pagey, increased from 1.1 to 4.7%.
