MG Astor SUV will come with JioSaavn app to stream music and videos
MG Astor will be the brand’s first car with a personal assistant system powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The mid-size SUV will be officially unveiled on September 15.
MG Motor India’s upcoming mid-size Astor SUV will feature the JioSaavn app installed on its 10.1-inch infotainment system, for streaming music and videos. It will be powered through the i-Smart Hub available on the new connected SUV, which will be officially released on September 15.
MG Astor will be the brand’s first car with an artificial intelligence (AI) powered personal assistant system that will be able to list voice commands and perform tasks such as playing music or even making or receiving phone calls.
The personal AI assistant will get the voice of Paralympic athlete and winner Khel Ratna Deepa Malik.
MG Motor’s mid-size Astor SUV will feature the JioSaavn app installed on its 10.1-inch infotainment system.
The medium size is based on the concept of Car as a Platform (CAAP) software which is based on technologies such as machine learning, blockchain, artificial intelligence, etc. The SUV will also feature Autonomous Level 2 technology, the first in the segment. This will allow it to perform a host of emergency safety functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure prevention lane and speed assist.

MG Motor also recently announced that the Astor SUV will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard on all its variants, bringing the Car Connect system to more potential customers.
Additionally, the new MG vehicle’s i-Smart hub will provide access to features such as park assist. Powered by Park+, this feature will help drivers reserve a parking space through a master unit, initially in select cities.
As for the mechanics, the ICE counterpart to the MG ZS EV, Astor will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine, which will be capable of producing 141PS of power and 240Nm of torque. maximum. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic unit.
