Seoul Music Awards 2022: Airdate, how to vote and K-pop event nominees
As the year draws to a close, more and more award shows are releasing information about their lineup and nominees. The K-pop industry kicked off its year-end awards shows with the 2021 Asia Artist Awards taking place on December 2. Meanwhile, we have the 31st Seoul Music Awards releasing preliminary information about their award show. The SMA 2022 will be the 31st edition having been launched in 1990.
Last year’s 30th Seoul Music Awards were more glamorous than ever despite the pandemic, as they were hosted at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena by comedian Shin Dong-yup, Super Junior’s Heechul and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung. BTS won the grand prize (daesang) while we had bonsang (main prize) winners like Ateez, IZ*ONE, NCT 127 and Monsta X. We also saw legendary performances from Stray Kids, ITZY and scenes collaborative with members of different groups. Well, here’s everything we know about the Seoul Music Awards 2022.

Broadcasting date
The 31st Seoul Music Awards will be held on January 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. KST (4 a.m. ET).
where to watch
The K-pop award show will air on the KBS channel as well as the U+ Idol Live app. The red carpet and awards show will also be broadcast by HelloLive TV.

Fans can collect “ruby chamsims” votes on the Idol Champ app and start voting on the 31st SMA Global Vote app. The K-wave award is 100% based on voting while the voting for the Main Bonsang award is only 30% of the winning criteria.
