Travis Scott no longer fear public attention following the Astroworld Tragedy in November.

Kylie Jenner also stepped out for a surprise red carpet appearance at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas to support Scott before he took the stage for his first televised performance since the festival, where 10 people died and hundreds more were injured following a wave of crowds.

Jenner wore a floor-length gray dress, accessorizing the look with chunky gold bangles and her hair in a simple bun. Scott kept it casual in a forest green wool suit paired with a white t-shirt and sneakers. But it was their 4-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster, who stole the show, also dressed in gray to match Jenner.

Brutally honest reviews: Every performance at the Billboard Music Awards

Scott kept a low profile: His performance last week at a Miami nightclub marked the rapper’s first time performing in public since Astroworld. He was also announced as the headliner of the Primavera Sound Festival taking place in São Paulo, Brazil; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Santiago, Chile.

Scott was also featured in Southside and Future’s new single “Hold That Heat”, his first major recent release.

Scott, who is nominated in the dance/electronic music category, was originally selected for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 2020 Lineupwhich has been postponed to this month of April.

However, a petition was started in November calling for Scott to be removed from the festival after the deaths at Astroworld in his hometown of Houston. Eight people died on the day of the event and two more people died of their injuries in the days following the festival.

In March, Scott announced a $5 million initiative dubbed “Project HEAL” which he says will be a “catalyst for real change” in the aftermath of the festival.

The project includes $1 million in scholarships for historically black colleges and universities, free mental health resources, a creative design training program, and a technology-driven solution for event security.

“I have taken the time and space to mourn, reflect and do my part to heal my community,” Scott wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “I want to use my resources and my platform to move forward towards real change. This will be a journey of a lifetime for me and my family.”

In February, Scott and Jenner welcomed their second child together, a little boy. Jenner announced her pregnancy in September 2021.
